Messy Mike's in Derry is putting out seriously legit barbecue — smoky, tender brisket with a peppery bark, ribs that fall off the bone, and pork belly bites that melt in your mouth. The monthly dino rib (first Sunday only) pulled a 9.5, my highest score ever. I went back for their rotating specials and they were just as unreal: the most moist, flavorful smoked turkey I've ever had (9.0), brisket bacon that melts on your tongue, and a bacon-wrapped, stuffed gringo popper that explodes with salty, smoky, peppery flavor (9.1). Specials rotate, so check their Facebook before you go.
